Codex Liber I T4_ISOLATIO L1.T4.A001
On the Independence of Doctrine

Setting Isolation

Status · vigens Liber · Nucleus Sources · 2
I §1 The Principle of Setting-Independence

The Republic's doctrine is setting-independent by design. Every Article in the Codex Terranus — the Three Pillars, the Sigillum Vigiliae, the rank ladder, the Holy Office, the Sacramentum Vigiliae, the Ius Gladii Universalis, the litanies and the ritual order — is written so that it can be applied in any military science-fiction context the High Command determines, without amendment.

This independence is not accidental. It is the doctrinal posture of an institution that intends to outlive any specific virtual universe and to remain coherent across whichever shared fiction the Republic chooses to inhabit, now or in the future.

Doctrina prima est, scaena secunda.
II §2 How Third-Party Settings Are Handled

The Republic conducts its activity inside shared narrative universes that belong to other authors and publishers. The Republic does not own those universes, does not represent those universes, and does not speak for them.

All setting-specific context — the named species, the named factions, the named systems and platforms of any third-party universe in which the Republic operates — is segregated to a designated zone of the Codex (Externa), restricted from public canon, and bound by the appropriate intellectual-property notices.

The public corpus of the Republic — Manifesto, Charter, Pillars, Holy Office Charter, Oath of Vigil, ranks, organica, ceremonial — names no third-party universe. When the Republic answers "what setting?", the answer in canon is: any setting where the doctrine holds. Operational specifics are an internal matter.

III §3 Independent Community

The Republic is, at the OOC level — that is, at the level of the real human beings who play in this organisation — a voluntary, independent community of players. It has no affiliation, formal or otherwise, with any game publisher or any third-party intellectual-property holder. Its members come from many backgrounds and play across whichever titles the High Command currently coordinates.

The Republic's name, sigil, mottoes, virtues, ranks and ritual structure are original work of the organisation. Inspirations from broader military science-fiction traditions inform atmosphere and cadence; they are not cited and not named in any material the Republic signs.

On the disclaimer

The standing Fiction Disclaimer — visible at the foot of every page of the public site and at the entry to every public artefact — restates this in operational form: the Republic's doctrine is grimdark fiction, applied exclusively to fictional in-universe entities, and never to real-world persons, groups, ethnicities, religions or identities.
