The Republic's House Rules

Server Rules

Status · vigens Liber · Organica Sources · 1
I §1 Acceptance and Platform Compliance

Membership in the Republic's Discord server constitutes acceptance of these rules. Ignorance of the rules is no defence. Updates are announced in the announcements channel and take effect immediately.

All members must comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and with the terms of service of any gaming platform on which the Republic operates. The following are forbidden:

  • Underage membership. Members must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Hate speech, slurs, or targeted harassment based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality.
  • Threats of violence, doxxing, or sharing of another person's private information without consent.
  • Sexually explicit content (NSFW). The server has no age-gated channels; NSFW is forbidden everywhere — avatars, banners, nicknames included.
  • Content sexualising or harming minors. Zero tolerance — immediate ban and report to platform Trust & Safety.
  • Self-harm or suicide promotion or graphic depiction. Direct contact with crisis services should be encouraged where appropriate.
  • Illegal activity under any applicable law.
  • Spam, raid coordination, mass mention abuse, or platform manipulation.
  • Malware, phishing links, or invite-bait scams.
  • Account sharing or selling, alt accounts to evade sanctions, or impersonating other members or staff.

Game-platform compliance

  • No cheats, hacks, exploits, or unauthorised third-party software in connection with any game the Republic plays.
  • No sharing of leaked, embargoed, or otherwise non-public publisher material (builds, assets, internal documents, NDA-protected content).
  • No account brokering or real-money trade of in-game items outside official platform channels.
  • No public attacks on other gaming organisations by name in non-restricted channels without sanction from High Command.
  • No in-game griefing of own organisation members or pre-arranged operations partners. Consensual PvP is allowed; betrayal of declared cooperation is not.
II §2 Conduct Between Members
  • Treat every member with professional respect, regardless of rank, role, or seniority.
  • Disagreement is permitted; personal attacks are not.
  • Doctrinal debate is welcomed in the proper channels; disruption of operations or organised denigration of the Republic's principles is not.
  • Do not harass, insult, mock, or otherwise hostilely target another member's identity, beliefs, or background. The lore offers many enemies — none of them are the person sitting next to you.
  • Public callouts of misconduct are not handled in chat. Use the reporting procedure (§5).
  • Do not pressure a Peregrinus Vigiliae to swear the Oath of Vigil or engage with roleplay. The Peregrinus track is a recognised, permanent membership option — not a waiting room. Pressure constitutes a conduct violation.

Prohibited content

  • Real-world political agitation. Including elections, partisan disputes, real-world military or policy advocacy, and the imposition of real-world political identities on the in-fiction Republic. The Republic is fictional. Keep it that way.
  • Real-world religious advocacy or attacks on real religions. In-universe rituals are fictional and apply only within the Republic's narrative space.
  • Disinformation, conspiracies, or pseudo-science presented as fact in non-roleplay channels.
  • Unsolicited DMs to other members for advertising, recruitment to other organisations, or sales.
  • Self-promotion or external advertising in any channel without prior approval from High Command.
  • Use of voice-changers, soundboards, or audio interference in voice channels intended to disrupt rather than entertain.
  • AI-generated content presented as human authorship. Disclose when content is AI-generated.
III §3 Languages, Voice, Privacy, Bots

Languages

  • Server-wide: English and European Portuguese are both supported.
  • The Portuguese-only channel is for European Portuguese only; posting in other languages there is redirected.
  • The Republic does not require members to speak any specific language. Mixed-language operations are common.
  • Translation between EN and PT-PT in mid-conversation is welcomed. Insistence that everyone speak one language is not.

Voice

  • Use push-to-talk (PTT) when in a noisy environment.
  • Soundboards are allowed in social voice channels in moderation; off in operations and ceremonial channels.
  • Music bots, when present, are stopped at the start of operational voice; resumed only after stand-down.
  • Recording of voice channels without explicit consent of all participants is forbidden.
  • Disconnections and rejoinings during operations are normal; constant in-and-out is disruption.

Privacy and account security

  • Do not share another member's real name, location, photo, employer, social-media handles, or any other personally identifiable information without explicit consent.
  • Do not share your own platform passwords, login tokens, or recovery codes anywhere on this server. The Republic will never ask for them.
  • Suspicious DMs claiming to be from any platform staff, High Command, or the Comissariado must be reported. Do not click links.
  • Two-factor authentication is strongly recommended on all platforms; required for sworn members on Discord.

Bots and automation

  • Only bots authorised by High Command are permitted.
  • Use of unauthorised bots, user-bots (self-bots), or browser automation against this server is forbidden.
  • Webhook integrations are configured by High Command.
IV §4 Enforcement

Role and enforcement track

  • Sworn Citizen ranks (Tiro → Consul Primus) — Discord-level enforcement + doctrinal staircase managed by the Comissariado.
  • Peregrinus Vigiliae (unsworn community member) — Discord-level OOC administrative enforcement only. The Comissariado is not involved.
  • Legatus / Miles Foederatus (allied organisation members) — Discord-level enforcement for community conduct; Foedus dissolution for treaty violations.
  • Guests / unaffiliated — Discord-level enforcement.

Community standard staircase (unsworn members, Peregrini, guests)

  • Step 1 — Verbal correction by staff in DM. Note in member file (Praetoria Civium register).
  • Step 2 — Formal warning in DM. Recorded in moderation log.
  • Step 3 — Temporary mute. 1 to 24 hours depending on severity.
  • Step 4 — Temporary kick. Re-invitation requires High Command review.
  • Step 5 — Permanent ban. May be accompanied by Non Admittendi entry if future application poses a risk.

Peregrinus Vigiliae removal under this staircase is an OOC administrative act. It does not produce a Purge Bulletin. The Ius Gladii does not apply. No Actum Gladii is submitted. The doctrinal categories of heretic, mutant, and alien sympathiser are inapplicable — no oath was taken.

Sworn members

Sworn members are additionally subject to internal doctrinal sanctions managed by the Comissariado. The doctrinal staircase runs in parallel with Discord-level enforcement; neither replaces the other.

Immediate ban

The following trigger immediate ban without prior steps:

  • CSAM or sexualisation of minors.
  • Credible threats of real-world violence.
  • Doxxing of a member or third party.
  • Distribution of malware or phishing.
  • Account takeover or coordinated raid.
  • Confirmed sale or sharing of TR-restricted content with hostile organisations.
V §5 Appeals and Reporting
  • To report a violation: open a DM to a member of High Command or the Comissariado. Include screenshots, channel name, timestamp, and a brief description.
  • Do not litigate the report in public channels. Public callouts are themselves a §2 violation.
  • To appeal a sanction (kick / ban): send a written appeal in DM to High Command within 14 days. Appeals are reviewed by High Command.
  • Permanent bans for the items in immediate-ban list are not appealable except by direct sanction of the Consul Primus.

Amendment

These rules are amended by High Command decision, ratified by the Consul Primus. Amendments take effect when published in the announcements channel.

Where these rules conflict with the Discord ToS or any platform ToS, the external ToS prevails.
